Who will be Southern Naval Commander ?
Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar is a prominent prospect. Currently the Commander-in-Chief of the Andaman and Nicobar Command, his extensive command experience, including leading the Western Fleet and serving as Chief of Staff, Western Naval Command, underlines his capability to take on the southern command. Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan, Chief of the Western Naval Command since mid-2025, also remains a potential candidate, given his seniority and varied expertise.
